Challenge
One of Sweden’s largest government agencies faced the need to modernize its aging data platform, which was struggling to keep up with the increasing volume and complexity of critical operational data. The outdated system limited efficiency and hampered the agency’s ability to deliver critical services. The agency needed a robust, scalable solution capable of processing real-time data streams from diverse sources while maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance.
Solution
Irori’s team of IT and engineering experts partnered with the agency to design and implement a modern streaming data platform built on Apache Kafka, deployed on OpenShift. This provided a solid foundation for handling the agency’s demanding data processing needs. To enhance development and deployment efficiency, the team leveraged GitOps methodologies with ArgoCD and Helm, ensuring streamlined operations and simplified platform management. Security and compliance remained priority throughout the project, with safeguards put in place to protect sensitive information. To facilitate a seamless handover, Irori established a comprehensive knowledge transfer program, which included training backup resources, rotating team members, and establishing clear onboarding and offboarding procedures.
Results
With the new platform in place, the agency can now:
- Empower internal teams with a self-service platform for greater autonomy.
- Process and analyze massive data volumes in real time, improving efficiency and accelerating insights.
- Integrate data from multiple sources, providing a unified view for better decision-making.
- Increase agility and scalability, enabling the agency to adapt to future needs and technological advancements.
